What Does it Mean to Be A City?

Although St. Gabriel is largely still a rural area, our designation as a city brings with it many advantages. Our sewer system, our police protection, our youth programs, our senior programs, and our economic development efforts are just a few of the benefits that come with our status.

With that status also comes responsibility. Each resident of the City of St. Gabriel has an individual impact on the city as a whole.

To assure our continued success as a city, each of us needs to be mindful of the importance of staying current on sewer bill payments, for instance. We also have responsibilities toward our neighbors, such as treating each other with kindness and respect and maintaining our city's beautification.
